Today I felt like taking a few winter shots of the property, not only for myself, but for those of you who have been wondering about outdoor sessions. As you can see, there is still plenty of beautiful scenery here even in winter (just as long as its not TOO cold, because this photographer can’t operate a camera with frozen fingers.)

This is the second time I’ve photographed this little girl and I have yet to see her sad or without a smile. She is absolutely one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met. What a joy she is to work with!

Although I rarely post personal information on my blog, I am always eager to tell the story about my remarkable son, Alex. If you would like to learn more about him and his journey, you can check out Choices in Deafness (available at most libraries and book stores) and read the chapter I wrote about him. His battle with a debilitating motor neuron disease has taught me the true meaning of courage and dignity. He has touched so many lives and is truly an inspiration to everyone he meets (and I’d say that even if I wasn’t his mom.)

Between February and March my son will be having three major surgeries which will require him to be home for about 8 to 10 weeks. I will still be taking clients during that time, but primarily weekend hours only. Anyone wanting weekday sessions should book between now and mid-February. I hope to resume a normal schedule by April, at which time I hope to sponsor a Special Needs month at the studio in honor of my son. For those of you working with Suzi Young at Camera Ready Kids, I am still open and available for your child’s acting/modeling headshots during the month of March, so please e-mail me if you’d like an appointment.
Thanks everyone for your support and well wishes.
Happy New Year!
